Kaftan

Kaftan has been inherited by numerous cultures worldwide for thousands of years. Worn throughout history by ancient Mesopotamia civilizations, many West and Southwest Asian ethnic groups, Northern African and Russian people. In Anatolia, materials, motifs, and ornaments used in caftan have various symbolic values (as for Anatolian carpets & Iznik tiles)

In the kaftan studies, I am interpreting the motifs & symbols of many great civilizations that thrived in historically rich Anatolia. We still have a lot to discover, learn & get inspired by it. On the other hand, I find it sad and thought-provoking that today we have massive polarization within society. This fragmentation drives me to take a historical perspective on Anatolia and celebrate its heritage.
